NAF airstrikes neutralize 25 terrorists in Borno, Yobe

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that over 25 terrorists were killed in a series of coordinated airstrikes across Borno and Yobe States.

LensNews gathered that the strikes, carried out on Thursday, September 18, 2025, targeted terrorist camps and movement corridors in the Bula area of Yobe and the Banki axis of Borno. The operations were executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC-OPHD).

According to NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the air raids followed actionable intelligence provided by ground troops who tracked suspicious movements of fighters in the two states. Strike aircraft, supported by intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms, engaged the terrorists in three separate precision attacks.

Post-strike assessments confirmed the neutralisation of at least 25 terrorists, with surveillance flights reporting no further threats in the targeted areas. The military described the mission as a major success in the ongoing counterterrorism campaign in the North East.

The strikes come amid heightened operations to dismantle terrorist supply routes and disrupt regrouping efforts along Nigeria’s borders with Cameroon and Chad.
